Meet Me At The Mountain shares New Dominion Bookshop window with John Grisham
On Saturday, November 14, 2009 Meet Me At The Mountain- (MMATM) was honored to share the front window of the New Dominion Bookshop (NDB) with internationally acclaimed author, John Grisham. The NDB located on the Charlottesville Downtown Mall is a favorite of Mr. Grisham. NDB carries John Grisham’s many books and always displays his newest release, currently Ford County.
According to Andrews, “While Meet Me At The Mountain is my 82 year old mother’s favorite book; her favorite author is John Grisham. Perhaps my standing will change if I write a few more books!” After the event, when I told my mom that I was fortunate to share the front window with the famous John Grisham, she said, “That is wonderful!”

Mark Andrews– author, director, executive producer presented his new children’s book and interactive DVD followed by a book signing. The first of its kind, Meet Me At The Mountain is a delightful and inspiring story. Using an interactive multi-sensory approach, the MMATM – Education Project was developed to educate you about how persons with differing abilities often doin amazing things to overcome life’s many challenges.
Come join Emerald Eagle and his six animal friends, each with differing abilities as they go on an inspiring quest for adventure that changes their lives and, most certainly will change yours. In pursuit of a common goal, the animal friends must confront a series of challenges that test their friendship, courage, and teamwork while serving to unite them as they discover new independence along the way.

Mark Andrews, author uses a musical rhyme scheme to captivate the reader. His purposeful choice of animal characters, highlighting both subtle and obvious physical traits as well as interpersonal leadership attributes, helps to educate the reader about the unique abilities of the characters: Emeral Eagle–spiritual leader, Rossi Raccoon–blind, Jean Claude Jack Rabbit–deaf, Fiona Fox–amputee, Big Max the Moose–multiple sclerosis (MS), CaitlinCougar–cerebral palsy (CP), and Kodie Bear–spinal cord injury/paraplegia. Barb Wallace, the artist/illustrator uses a watercolor medium with breathtaking landscapes and beautifully detailed animals. In the Music version (DVD), Dick Harrington, music arrangement/guitar/lead vocals and the Troublesome Creek String Band play Old Time Music with a wonderful melody and signing of the story that helps the characters come alive. In the Sign Language version (DVD), the story is told by Peggy Westfall, a Sign Language Interpreter, using unique interactive Quicktime video segments. Steven Collins, uses creative interactive media and layout design to help give life to Meet Me At The Mountain. Ricki Curry, provided Braille Transcription making MMATM available in two formats for individuals who are Blind/Vissually Impaired: a(1) a traditional Braille format and (2) an illustrated Print/Braille version–these are through our e commerse store www.mmatm-dvd.com as a special order.

Hi Mark!
Meet Me At The Mountain looks like a wonderful creation – so inspiring! I love the mult-media approach – what a great way to include everyone in what looks like a delightful story! I plan to order soon. In the meantime, I put a link to MMATM on my adaptive recreation blog as well as a link to Therapeutic Adventures. Check it out at http://www.everyoneoutdoors.blogspot.com
You might remember me – we co-presented last year at the VA Greenways Conference. I was so impressed then by all you do, and how great to see this additional unique venture!
