Meet Me At The Mountain to be featured at Sprout Film Festival

PREP/Parent Resource Center is pleased to be a co-sponsor of the Sprout Film Festival, which returns to Charlottesville Friday, March 12th, 2010. Please mark your calendars, check out the attached flyer and forward this information to your friends, families, neighbors, board members, and community organizations. Link it to your website and include in your newsletters!
The Sprout Film Festival features films made by and about people with developmental disabilities, highlighting the issues facing this population and the many ways they enhance our lives and community. These films aim to educate, entertain, and inspire! Included in this year’s line up are several international films, as well as films by local students and film makers. All films are appropriate for 5th graders and up, with and without disabilities.
Festival show times are 10:30 am – 12:00 pm and 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. The morning show is free, with a $10 suggested donation for the evening performance. Proceeds will support My Turn, Your Turn, a new DVD project featuring the music of Charlottesville musician and composer Cathy Bollinger. The DVD, which will provide a visual and interactive resource for teaching social skills to children, will be targeted to parents and educators, including special education teachers, and will include local individuals with and without disabilities.
The festival will be held at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Performing Arts Center, 1400 Melbourne Road, on the Charlottesville High School campus. The 2010 VSA Art Show will be on display in the lobby.
